Shellac Nail Polish

Shellac nail polish seems to be the new thing! Spas are advertising it like crazy now as a much healthier alternative to fake nails! It's suppose to stay on for 14 days and have no negative effects on the health of your nature nails.
I went to the spa and had mine done a beautiful purple with sliver glitter on the tips. I would say it probably took around 30mins to have them done. I started off with just a normal manicure, the same as what you would get if you were just getting your nails done with regular polish, then the lady applied a base coat, and put my hands under a uv light for 30seconds. After the base coat was done she started applying the purple, the first coat went on extremely sheer! She probably applied 5-6 coats of the purple, putting my hands under the uv light for a minute each time. After the purple was finally done she then applied one coat of the shellac glitter to the tips and once again put my hands under the light for yet another minute. She then painted the pattern on my thumbs with just regular polish, then applied a top shellac clear coat and I put my hands under the light one last time for 2 minutes this time. Then I was done and ready to go!
They're dry right away, another bonus to shellac!

It came to $43.00 which in my opinion isn't bad! It pays for the manicure it's self (which is usually $20) plus since I got the purple and glitter I was paying for two colours and also the pattern on the thumbs was an extra $5.

It ended up staying on for 12 days! Finally by day 11 it was starting to come off, on day 12 most of the edges of the polish had lifted just enough that when I ran my hands through my hair it would get caught and cause it to lift off even more. They didn't lie though because it didn't chip like regular polish, the whole shellac on the nail actually lifted up and came off in one big piece.

I'm very happy with it staying 12 days though, especially since my nails grow very fast anyways so any longer I would have had to go back and get them filled, they were already driving me crazy with how much they had grown out in just a week, so in a way I'm glad they came off.

*something that could have affected it was I cut my nails on day 10 and filed them down because they were so long and bugging me so that could have caused them to start to come off*

Their was no damage to my nails what so ever, it didn't thin them, cause them to break nothing, they looked just like they did before getting the shellac just longer and I was able to paint them with normal polish no problem.

All in all I would defiantly recommend them, I know pricing is different from spa to spa but $43 for 12 days of colour is great! One and only negative is if you're like me and like to change the colour all the time you can't do that with shellac
